Cambodia is situated in south-east Asia and is one of the poorest countries of the region. Struck by many wars, the country suffers with a high poverty rate, bad medical services and a large inequality. The economy has been growing the last decade but so has inequality. Not only income inequality is large, the same is true for social economic inequality, such as chances on education. A significant part of the population does not have the opportunity to go to school since the fees are too high and there are no opportunities for lending the money. Without education Cambodians do not have a fair chance on the labour market.
